If you’re unsure what an exercise physiologist does, they are a university trained allied health professional that specialises in the safe delivery of exercise, lifestyle and behavioral modification programs for the prevention and management of chronic disease and injury. This includes cardiovascular disease, hypertension, COPD, obesity, diabetes, arthritis, joint injury/replacement and stroke.
After completing her Bachelor in Human Movement Science at CQU and completing her Masters at Edith Cowan University, Gytha moved overseas and in Canada for about 5 years. She then made the move to our beautiful town of Bundaberg. Gytha has a passion to make exercise fun and less of a chore to patients. She provides encouragement and motivation to help everyone achieve their goals through exercise. She is currently based at our clinic at Bargara Central along with our incredibly convenient in-house gym.
Gytha runs a range of classes including, hydrotherapy, pilates, balance and falls prevention, and Mates for Mates exercise classes. She is registered with Medicare & HICAPS and therefore accepts EPC plans, DVA & Workcover along with any private patients.
In her spare time, Gytha loves to travel with her husband and spend time with family. She also loves (and is pretty good at) beach volleyball, having played with and against some of Australia’s best in various tournaments.
