Coral Coast Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic was established in 2012 in the CBD of Bargara. From our humble beginnings the clinic has had exponential growth and now boasts the services of Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Podiatry, Occupational Therapy, Remedial Massage, Clinical Pilates, Sports Physiotherapy Screenings & Dry Needling/Accupuncture. We also provide services out of our satellite clinic located at the YMCA Bundaberg & Bargara Gym where we run DVA exercise classes and advanced exercise prescription for our patients. Offsite clinics services are also provided at Palm Lake Resort and Carlyle Gardens. Ben is the director of Coral Coast Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic. His qualifications entail a Bachelor of Human Movement Science in 2004, a Masters of Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland in 2006, a Masters of Sports Physiotherapy from Latrobe University in 2016 and currently finishing a Masters in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from La Trobe University. Ben has completed his Level 3 Sports Physiotherapy course at the Australian Institute of Sport and Level 2 Spinal Physiotherapist course. He also works with the CQ Uni Bundaberg Physiotherapy program as a casual academic tutor to their musculoskeletal subjects and looks after 2nd and 4th year students.
Ben was born and schooled in Bundaberg and at a junior level represented Queensland in Soccer, Cricket and Volleyball. After graduating he worked for the Allsports Physiotherapy & Sports Medicine group in Brisbane for a number of years, where he was exposed and had the pleasure of working with such sporting organisations as the Brisbane Broncos, Melbourne Storm, the then Queensland Roar Football Club (now Brisbane Roar) and the Norths Devils (QLD Cup Rugby League). Ben has also been lucky enough to travel as the team physiotherapist for the Australian Schoolboys Rugby League team from 2010 to current & QLD Schoolboys Rugby League team from 2007-2011. Ben also is lucky enough to work with the Queensland Rugby League emerging state of origin junior teams since 2016, as curtain raiser games to the State of Origin. Ben also has been appointed as a regional physiotherapy provider to the Queensland Academy of Sport. Ben recently has been accepted to work at the 2018 Commonwealth Games as a clinical sports physiotherapist.
Locally, Ben provides physiotherapy services to the Past Brothers Rugby League club and Bingera Football Club. Personally, Ben has a keen interest in improving his golf and stand up paddle boarding and has started enjoying the challenge of F45 training.

Reuben has been working as a Physiotherapist for over 12 years. He completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy with the University of Otago in New Zealand.
He has treated in a variety of Clinics throughout Australia and New Zealand & has been lucky enough to grow as a Clinician with his vast experience. He has settled here in Bundaberg and has made it his home. In his spare time Reuben enjoys keeping fit with Cycling and Swimming.
Reuben has a strong interest in Men’s Health Physiotherapy. He is currently working alongside local GP’s and urologists to help men overcome difficult to discuss concerns such as incontinence, erectile dysfunction, pelvic pain and Peyronie’s disease . This exciting new field of physiotherapy is breaking down walls and opening communication to help men regain freedom, confidence and enjoy living their lives without limitations again.
To help progress our patients further, Reuben is also co-ordinating our Pilates programme. These programmes have been integral to assisting our patients at Coral Coast Physiotherapy reach their goals and enjoy the fantastic outdoors that the Wide Bay Region has to offer. 2018 will be a busy year for Reuben as he plans to travel around Australia to up-skill his Men’s Health interest and build networks in the emerging area.

Shaun graduated from CQUniversity Bundaberg with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) in 2016. Shaun has grown up in the Bundaberg region and has been working with Coral Coast Physiotherapy since 2014 as a Physio Assistant. Since graduating, Shaun has joined the team as a full time physiotherapist and is currently the 1st division Bargara Football teams physiotherapist. He has a strong interest in sports and resistance based training, and loves to surf when he isn't at work. He is investing into improving his services this year by completing the Level 1 Sports & Level 1 Spinal physiotherapy courses.

Ben is the newest member of the Coral Coast Physiotherapy team and is our new full time Physiotherapist. Ben is a Bundy boy & graduated from CQU with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. Ben has had the opportunity to work in the sporting industry with the NRL as a local development officer, and also an athletics training working with a wide scope of athletes. He has a strong interest in sports physiotherapy, injury rehabilitation & prevention. He also has a special interest in Neck pain and preventative exercises for shoulder and ankle injuries. After completing her Bachelor in Human movement science at CQU in Brisbane, then onto completing her Masters at Edith Cowan University, Gytha moved overseas & been living in Canada for the last 5 years. She has recently just made the move to our beautiful town Bundaberg. Gytha has a passion to make exercise FUN & less of a chore to patients. She provides encouragement & motivation and wants to help everyone achieve their goals through SAFE & HEALTHY exercise! Kay Shepherd, originally from Brisbane has moved back to Bargara after working extensivly as a soft tissue massage therapist in the Sporting Industry for over the last 20 years. Kay plans on settling down here & loves working with and complimenting the Physiotherapists treatment plans. Kay has her certificates in Dry Needling, Sports Taping & Pilates. Alex completed her training with the University of Queensland and has been working as an Occupational Therapist since 2015. Occupational Therapists work with individuals to help them maintain their independence and continuing doing their everyday tasks safely. Alex has worked primarily with people who have a disability in the community and hospital settings. She has a particular interest in paediatric care and development. Alex is currently offering members of the Coral Coast Physiotherapy community home assessments to look at any equipment or modification needs they might have to help them remain safe and independent in their homes.

Danni commenced with us in 2016 and is our Office Practice Manager, she enjoys interacting with all our lovely patients and loves going out of her way to please everybody both staff and patients. Danni loves to get out on the water on her weekends and enjoys wake boarding and camping. Donna started with the clinic in 2017 after 14 years working with local GP Practices. Donna loves spending time with her much loved family and friends. Jasmin has been working with the clinic as a physiotherapy aid since 2016, while she is completing her Bachelor of Physiotherapy studies at Central Queensland University.
